Latin name: Cryptolaemus montrouzieri
Small (3 mm) black lady beetles with an orange head. Larvae look similar to mealybugs with a white, hairy, waxy film. Cryptolaemus adults and larvae feeds on mealybugs, long tailed mealybugs, aphids and soft shelled scales.
SHIPPED: Adult in bottles or Larvae in trays. Note we can not ship larvae in the winter months.
OPTIMUM CONDITIONS: 16-33C (61-91F), 70-80% humidity.
RELEASE RATE:
2 to 5 Cryptolaemus per plant
2 Cryptolaemus per m. sq. (10 ft. sq.)
600 to 1000 per mature fruit tree.
OTHER CONTROLS:
Lacewings help control all types of mealybugs.
Beneficial Nematodes will control root mealybugs.
